KCRA 3 and the CHP distribute the toys to hospitalized and disadvantaged children through UC Davis Children's Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Shriner's Hospital, the Salvation Army, WEAVE, Head Start, Boys & Girls Club, Operation Rudolph, and other community service organizations.What types of donations are needed? Child-safe and educational toys brighten the holidays for babies and toddlers. Young children like board games, puzzles, crayons and coloring book sets, craft kits and building sets, Sports equipment (soccer, basketball and footballs) and hand-held video games work well for pre-teens. Teenagers (who are sometimes overlooked during toy drives) enjoy walkman radios and CD players, movie passes, phone calling cards, and gift certificates to clothing, variety, book and music stores.SMART MADNESS will host coffee, tea, cider, donuts and you?
