Trade-in Your Faulty Smart Car Performance Cold Air Intake. Ask SMART MADNESS how.

Unfortunately as seen earlier today within this forum, Smart Car Performance (SCP) has admitted to a faulty design of their heat shield/ Cold Air Intake (CAI) and is taking a stance to not help customers based on where the CAI was purchased. The heat shield is the cover that surrounds the filter on the Cold Air Intake (CAI) V2 and is unfortunately known for breaking off and rattling within the engine bay.

We (SMART MADNESS) tried to work with the manufacturer to replace the shields at no cost to you- the driver. We've ran out of our inventory and need more as we have fixed 3 within the past 7 business days alone. The manufacturer however, refuses to help and has publicly stated so within this forum, that is unless you or we pay 56. per heat shield. We asked SCP to reconsider his position for the customer but unfortunately he is standing firm. The manufacturer (Cisco) has chosen to not stand behind their product based on purchase location and for that we sincerely apologize.

With that said, SILA CONCEPTS, the manufacturer of the current Cold Air Intake that we carry, has come to us and would like to help you out with a trade-in program for any faulty Cold Air Intake manufactured by SCP. You will not have to worry about faulty design flaws with this CAI. SILA did their homework and came to the table with a fantastic product.

For close to the price of a new heat shield that is bound to break again, SILA CONCEPTS will offer you a brand new SILA Cold Air in either powder coated black or silver. Here is the product link:

I decided that once in a while I would like to share with the community my favorite items that we sell to drivers, well, like me and maybe you :)

One of my favorite items at the store is a wonderful gadget that is necessary if you use your mobile phone, iPod or iPhone in your smart. This gadget is universal to most auto cup holders (definitely the smart), fully adjustable on all sides of the holding bracket and has a neck that can bend to keep your gadget in a favorite position to your eyes liking.

Nitrogen in tires?

Hey All,

I think we know who does it, those that accelerate into turns, push the redline, know the apex and can follow lines... would you ever do it in your smart, put Nitrogen in your tires? Just curious. My miata has coil overs, 4 point roll bar, sway bar, cold air, exhaust and a couple of little things. I sometimes feel I can do more... but I would like to make my smart like my miata... but until then. Would you ever put Nitrogen in your tires?

It's a rainy Friday morning here in Long Beach, CA. My day is a bit packed but I wanted to take a break to see what was going on in the forums. I realized that a lot of our friends (yes, the customers :) are on the forums. I get a smile when I see handles to a name. I know who you are, because I see your orders, I see your fantastic email addresses (some of them are clever!), and last I see your name.

You see... Boris and I try our best to deliver what we feel you deserve, what we feel we deserve when we are a customer. Sometimes, we falter, an email gets pushed down, the phone log gets crazy, but we apologize and recognize where we screwed up. The community however, has always been forgiving and I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being there, thank you for supporting us, and for making our investment so exciting and fun.

The passion (no pun intended) that comes across the phone (the phone is ringing!) ok back, just makes it so worthy for me. I enjoy talking to you, trying to figure out what we can do to make your driving experience with your smart, that much more fun and unique. We started this business because we love cars, more so, we love our smart. We knew we couldn't be the only ones and we're so d@mn happy that we aren't alone. So that's it. Just a thanks... nothing more. Just thanks from me (SmartGurl) Rachel to you- our friends. You Rock.

New wheel shipments came in - Lower prices

The launch of the DeCorsa and Genius wheels went very well and we have now received much LARGER shipments from the manufacturers. Those of you that have been by our shop in the last day or two have seen pallets and pallets of wheels coming in.

Hi All,

Just wanted to take a moment to thank the community for the fantastic support this past year. A project that was to be part time and fun ended up being a full time hobby that has become a dream come true. We sincerely wanted to thank the community, because without you we wouldn't be able to be where we are today.

With that said, our physical shop in Signal Hill, CA will be closed from 12/25 -01/04. Online orders will still be honored, and shipping will resume 1/04 upon our return.

Smart Madness at the L.A. Auto Show, Kentia Hall, booth #531

Hiya Fellow Smarts,

Wanted to give a bit of an advance notice...

We are going to be staffed out at the LA Auto Show from November 19th - 30th with our smarts.

We will have a Smart Madness booth in Kentia Hall at space #531. If you are planning to visit the show please come on by and say hi, we would love to chat with you and show you what's in store. We will be there from open to close all day, every day and it would be great to meet some of you in person.

We will still be able to process and ship orders either at the start of each day or end, but we may be a bit delayed responding to calls and emails while we are at the show. Our store will also be closed during those days since we will all be at the show.

We apologize ahead of time for this and by next year hope to have grown enough (with your support!), so we can have additional staff that could keep the store open while we are away.

Smart Madness Offers a New Rim Option. Budget Friendly and Stock Tire Compatible and They Look GREAT!

Hiya All,

We wanted to let you know first that it is official and the wheels are on the way we wanted to make an announcement about a new line of wheels for the Smart Car.

If you have seen pictures of the cars displayed at the SEMA show you probably seen the Black Smart Madness Car on display at the Ace DeCorsa Wheels booth. DeCorsa introduced a new line of 15" custom wheels that have been designed specifically for the Smart 451. They designed the wheel to be used with the stock Smart tires eliminating the need to purchase new tires and spending additional funds.

The wheels were a hit at the SEMA show and won the "Best New Product - Wheels" category.

We at Smart Madness have been chosen as the distributor for these wheels and are excited and proud to work with Ace DeCorsa and to offer these wheels to the Smart Car community.
