We raced from Northern California to Nevada as a Rally arranged by Gold Rush Rally.
Except the California Highway Patrol decided to end all the fun by closing down the 15 freeway to Nevada.
The only problem for CHP (California Highway Patrol) was that to many drivers racing their Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Mazarati's, and Austin-martins carried Immunity papers from the State Department. So the Police officer told everyone racing to respect the law and the speed limit. Took pictures with the drivers and that was the beginning of a slow drive to Nevada boarder.

This can happen to anyone. BTH exhaust just broke up. The welds were not good enough and the next thing I heard driving on the road was a dragging sound. Stoped and checked and this is what I saw. Before you upgrade your exhaust and pay tons of money for it check and see how well the exhaust is build.

You buy a cheap exhaust, you get a cheap exhaust, simple as that. The smart exhaust is unlike any other exhaust, because it is attached to the engine and therefore moves and vibrates a lot more it has to be well made and well supported, plus it has to have a cat and a good silencer in a small space.

Many people have told me that aftermarket Exhausts are breaking away.

What is your experience?

Smart 451 Disc Brakes

It is time to upgrade the front disc brakes.
A word of warning for those 451 owners who use Dentures please be careful upgrading to S-Mann discs because anything not tied down will fly out through the front windshield.
The stopping distance of a regular smart over 120 feet from 60mph. After the upgrade under 70 feet. The gforce during braking will give the seat belts a workout but what a change.

Smart Car Explosin (Can it Happen)?

When a standard car battery is charged via the alternator, it creates hydrogen gas.
In standard cars, that battery is under the hood so the gas drifts away.
In the Smart, the gas could accumulate in the cabin causing an explosion hazard.

The standard Smart battery comes with a venting tube that exits the bottom of the battery tray, your replacement should have this connection unless using a sealed Optima battery.

My original battery on a March 2008 build is 42AH.
I think the upgrade Battery is around 61AH.
Smart will only upgraded for certain feature if you have on your Smart.
Comfort package features (1) heated Seats.

I guess it is a good question to ask yourself?
Would you do it or not. Add a Turbo to your fine toy. 30 to 50 HP gain.

Yes it is true. Our turbo kit is almost done and will be in for production in March.
We are looking at doing about 3 to 4 psi boost and provide a tune for both the engine management and shift. HP gains could be from 30 hp and up and fully adjustable.

We set a date for the end of this week to work on the tuning side of the kit. At this moment the hardware is completely done.
