To the contrary, Russ Lucas at Pittsburgh smartcenter has been excellent. I am not a big spender customer...even told him that I change the oil, replace bulbs etc myself (all of which could have been revenue for them)...but he has been unfailingly helpful, courteous and alert to finding ways to help me save money. This dealership seems to price services and parts fairly, so for whatever its worth, I highly commend and recommend Pittsburgh smartcenter and Russ Lucas in particular. what size wrench? tag:www.451s.com,2010-06-19:1912846:Topic:82493 2010-06-19T20:25:02.901Z jackb http://www.451s.com/profile/jackb Anybody know what metric size wrench to use on the motor oil drain plug? And car companies are beginning to keep repair info private (there is a bill stalled in Congress that would compel carmakers to share repair info). smart has shown itself to be no exception to this...note how little actual technical data is available in the owners' manual. Many of them say this is to protect their intellectual property (it seems you can't adjust a mirror without having to make a corresponding adjustment in some onboard software), but the impact on us is to lessen available repair choices and drive up repair prices. So, I'm thinking that it would be a good idea to use this site to list any independent repair shops that seem to know something about repair and maintenance of smart fortwos. If you have a story about your good / bad experience with one or more of them, that would be immensely helpful...would reward shops who want to serve this market...and maybe help keep maintenance prices down.
