I just got my 2009 Smart Coupe on Christmas Eve. :-) White/black with tan interior. I love this car. Best vehicle I have ever owned. Still getting used to all the looks this car gets. I'm frequently stopped when getting out of my car by people wanting to know more about it. Picking my nose in public is a bad idea now, since there are camera phones everywhere. :-D

Any update on this? I'm really interested in having a Chilton-style maintenance manual since I like tinkering. :-)

Hi Paul-Kathy Moss here from San Antonio. Got my car this past week on 9/11. Blue with silver. I had to wait since July '07, but was worth the wait. Would love to get together with Austin, San Antonio Club members. Please keep in touch. Kathym1228@att.net

I have presented this idea to smart USA and they told me an internet subscription based manual would be made available. No ETA on this yet, but I'll be sure to post up when I hear more.

Paul,

What are the chances of getting a smart maintenance manual? You know, something like a Chilton's that has all the how to stuff. I don't really plan to work on the mechanicals, but I would like instructions on how to take off body parts and things like that.
First Central Texas meet-n-drive planned (July 19th)
Hello my fellow smart friends,
finally a Central Texas Cruise. An Austin meet-n-drive. The first one! Saturday July 19th. We'll meet on the deck of Central Market North (CM) at 10am, chat-n-snack a little, then drive. We have a terrific photo op planned for our short drive (send me a private email and I'll divulge the secret). We have a terrific photo op planned for our short drive (send me a private email and I'll divulge the secret). We'll drive a little around Austin, see and be seen by the natives then end the ride at CM (or nearby school parking lot, still in negotiations) for the last photo op with all the smarties. To entice my fellow Austinites, Pflugervillians, Round Rockians, Georgetownians, and those in other outlying areas, I have asked RR smart Center to donate a piece of smart merchandise for a drawing giveaway (all participating smart driver's names in a hat and one drawn for the prize). Please RSVP to this thread, or Rmichael1 on this site, or to rmclink@gmail.com. If you don't have your smartie yet, I suggest you RSVP, come on down and meet everyone and maybe hitch a ride with a smart owner for the drive. I got my smartfortwo from smart Sugar Land, Texas on March 5th, 2008. I was told by Ralph (salesman) that mine was the 13th on the road in the Houston, Corpus Christi, Galveston, Beaumont area! She ("Daisy") must have been on the first truck!
I signed up for the smart newsletter in June 2006. I made a deposit February or March 2007! Another e-mail told me to choose my colors and accessories. I ordered yellow with black tridon and RED interrior, alarm, Radio 10, and power steering. Oh, and windo…

I signed up for the smart newsletter in June 2006. I made a deposit February or March 2007! Another e-mail told me to choose my colors and accessories. I ordered yellow with black tridon and RED interrior, alarm, Radio 10, and power steering. Oh, and window tenting, too! I always think outside the box! My test drive was July 17th, 2007. Then I knew I made the right decision by ordering very early!

It was a long wait but I've had a ton of fun driving her. People drive past, then slow down and take pictures of my smart with their cell phones. I see people looking in the window when it is parked where I can see it. And like everyone, I get a ton of questions about mileage, who makes it, is it a hybrid or electric, where did you buy it (smartusa.com), etc., etc. I've thought of making a business card with FAQ and answers to just hand out so I don't have to take the time to answer. Now I usually say "smartusa.com" will answer all your questions.

Mine is so cute that I wish I could find a bumble bee to put on my intenna or a bee stinger to put on my "tail." Does anyone know where to find something like that?
