Hi George, If you could post a picture with a tape measure in the picture of the exact place you want measured. I will go to the dealer by me and measure this for you. They have a Brabus coupe and cabriolet on display now.

Hi there, has anyone measured the lowering difference between stock lip and BRABUS spoiler lip? It looks like it is only 1/2" can you give an accurate measure at its lowest point when compared to stock?

I turned the brightness up on my computer screen and I see now that the photo is of the Brabus Ultimate 112. I guess the color should have been enough to tip me off that it was a special Brabus. Thanks for your commemts.
I can't wait untill we all can check out the 2009 USA version at the dealers.

I think the quad fogs are only on the Ultimate 112 and would be an "additional" after market part. I think the Brabus comes with the full Babus appearence package, the monoblock wheels and sports suspension (not sure). From what I've heard it's mostly, if not all cosmetic.

You are going to get a first class world famous car. If I start describing your car everyone else will throw up and hate you. So lets leave it at that. You will not get dual fog lights. That is one step higher. Have fun you are a lucky man.

I have a couple of questions about the USA 451 Brabus upgrade.

(1) On the car in the photo at the begining of this discussion, it looks like that car has dual fog lights on each side Four fog lamps total. Is this the way the USA Brabus will look ?

(2) In the list of standard Brabus equipment for 2009, (on page 2 of this discussion) what items are different from the standaed smart fortwo ? For example:Side indicators in yellow. Are these indicators a different color on the standard smart ? I…

I guess what I am asking is, if someone that knows could make a list of only the things that are exclusive to the USA Brabus upgrade ?
I am trying to get a better understanding of what a Brabus really is.
Thanks
Dec is the date I was told where we can register from the web site. It might happen sooner. The price I was given was over 20 thousand but they gave them out for less to some lucky people. I will see what I can find. I think we have to hold back till middle of 2009 to see the direction of MB/Penske. Sales at car dealerships are falling dramatically. To just give you an idea sales in California car dealers are down 70 or more percent. I think this played into BRABUS cars released for less. 17…

I will check what BRABUS says.
Yep battery and the tow eye with emergency tyre kit are under the left hand side (passenger) foot well. Most of the front end seems to have been mirrored from left to right.

The rear body seems not to have been mirrored; so what would be the drivers door to you with the mechanical key lock has stayed on the LHS, which is passenger side here. Gas cap is on the the right hand side which is the drivers side.
The pulse has fog lights as standard and all the interior is grey / black / silver trim. None of those flashy colors the pure and passion have. So interior detailing and switches are a bit different.

The production runs would be: pure; passion; pulse; BRABUS; BRABUS Xclusive; both in left or right hand drive. Europe and UK get the choices of 45 kW (61 bhp); 52 kW (71 bhp); 62 kW (84 bhp) turbo; 72 kW (98 bhp) BRABUS turbo petrol engines and also the 33 kW cdi diesel. Then choose between coupe and cabrio and then toss in customer options and you end up with a very long checklist for every smart that rolls off the line... ?

Just to confuse me, my Euro version owners manual referred to the "three litre" fortwo. I thought that to be one of the editorial mistakes in the book (there are a few obvious ones). I later discovered that Europe has what they call the "3 litre club" which are cars that can achieve fuel economy of 3 litres per 100 kilometres. The 33 kW cdi is in that club. There is no cost effective way to retro-fit a turbo onto a non-turbo smart. I have the turbo pulse and have been studying the turbo, TIK, intercooler and the obvious external changes.... ain't no simple way to bolt those onto a car that was built non-turbo... and that is the whole bone of contention over the US being offered the "poser BRABUS"... get the body looks but not the turbo engine. If it isn't built turbo, it will never be turbo.
