I usually pull a little aluminum flatbed trailer with my Smart. I cary a spare for the Smart and a spare for the trailer on the trailer. If I disconnect the Smart's trailer, I can drive it onto my dual axle trailer and stuff the Smart's trailer tongue under the Smart so that they both fit. Then I can tow my Smart and the Smart trailer on the dually trailer with a pickup truck. Just trying to think of a reason to do this...
By the way, I hate the sensors and I hate the dash light. Even though they all work, I hate them. Hate. Hate. Hate. I step on the top of the tires to see if they are low. If they seep below 35 psi, I add air. Sensors do nothing for a hypermiler who runs his tires at max sidewall psi. I wouldn't be much of a hypermiler if I let my tires seep below 25 psi to set off the sensors, would I? So what good are they?
I pulled a huge thorn out of my passenger front tire that I picked up in a dry wash in the desert. I like bouncing around in the sand in the Smart. It's so light that it's hard to get stuck. In fact, I've never gotten stuck in the sand. I did get stuck in the snow, once. Slow stuck. Anyway, I pulled out this thorne and drove quick to Auto Zone while it whistled out the air. I screwed on a big can of latex stop-leak and drove it to Chicago and back from California. That stuff is great and doesn't even put your wheel out of balance. I don't care if it messes up my sensors. It didn't, but if it did, I wouldn't care. I hate them. Hate. Hate. Hate. The dash light, too. I had my first flat recently. Had her towed. Nail in the sidewall; toast. Paid $135 for a new one (ouch!)

Ok thanx. So I found out that the hole was repairable with a plug/patch kit. I plugged it. However before that happened I put 2 or 3 cans of inflate a tire crap from a can. I intend to buy a new tire and mount it on the wheel. When its off I am going to clean the rim to get all the gunk out. The cans said they would not harm the TPMS. I wonder how true that statement is. I hope the TPMS is not in need of replacement now.
Thanx again for the reply

Thanx again for the reply depends on how bad the damage…tag:www.451s.com,2010-11-28:1912846:Comment:1013332010-11-28T18:44:07.134Zmr bad examplehttp://www.451s.com/profile/mrbadexample
depends on how bad the damage is, the TPMS is in the valve stem, mounted in the wheel, if the hole is in the tread, a tire place can make a permanent patch or plug. if you drove a bit on the flat, you may have damaged your tire beyond repair. if it's still holding air, go to your local tire store for an inspection/repair.
