Thanks for the advice , i think i will leave the ECU as it is at the moment and some time in the future i will consider upgrading it .

Yes i mean brakes. Living out of england for over 30 years i need to go back to school............Have tried all in the past but must admit not yours but i don't think that its to problem, I hink its more to the fact that there is no weight on the front of the car.

Just a thought, all this talk about remapping on the 71 hp, the 84hp turbo up 100hp and nobody has said anything about breaks, yes stopping................. if there is one thing that I have never been 100% happy with on any of my Smarts and i have had 4 going back to my first in 1999 its the breaks, even on my new turbo. Try stopping from 145 kms on a wet road as if your life depends on it. You should all remember that the smart was never made as a race car and it never will be one.

I have been a smart owner since 2005 with the smart mk2 700cc turbo 61bhp,, now i m glad i got read of the oil consuming turbo , and that is the reason i went for the 71bhp non turbo 999cc smart 451.<br /> I believe that the engine will last longer with less ware and maintainance .<br /> Now the discusion is about the above model and if there is a sencible remap for the 451 i own.
