Share '"Snowflake" icon on instrument cluster'

I was driving last night in manual mode, and a "snowflake like" symbol started flashing between my transmission position indicator and my outside temperature. It then stopped flashing after a few km, stayed solid, and then disappeared. Anyone have any idea what it was trying to tell me? I read the manual again last night (twice) trying to figure it out.
