Smart Fog Lights

I wanted to add fog lights to my car and decided to call the dealer to install them. The dealer told me it can't be done. This was News to me can't be done.
Has anyone dealt with this problem.
I would love to add fog lights to my car.

First you can add the fog lights to your car.
Just call the parts department and ask them for Smart Fog lights. If they don't have them in stock then ask them for R-Class fog lights left and right side. They are same fog lights for Smart and R-Class. Next buy 4 fixing screws # A0119846529. Also ask for fog light covers for the Smart. Everything will fit in place very easy.
The only problem is fuse #5 that powers the lights is not programed and this is where the dealer is telling you the fog lights will not work. You will have to supply power to the fog lights. If you need help with that I can give you info on how to.

Permalink Reply by chopstk on April 5, 2009 at 10:48pm: Kahn, I just remove the switch bank and pick the second one (which is #1 on the instruction in evlution) from the left for the fog lights and modified it as evlution instruction. When I press on it, there is a green light come one. I notice that from other car that is the switch for fog lights. I wonder if it is already program for the 2009 cars. Any idea. Tackling that work would certaily void the warranty with the exceptional electrical complexity. Just as I figured. But thanks very much for the heads-up. I appreciate the response !
