if you are running anything remotely powerful, you'd be better of running a new line from the battery
you dont want to be increasing the risk of a fire hazard for no reason...(all that power through a relatively thin wire)

i does install, the smart's have a double din slot
you just need to have the right fascia

Your car looks VERY nice, you've done great work. But one thing stands out - the silver headlamps. Need to paint them black! Instructions at Evilution, of course. My son and I did mine, and they look like they came that way.
