Hey Dorothy. There is a latch right behind the passenger seat for a tether. This is really the only anchor and is approved by smat Canada and Trasport Canada. The only way the smart could be certified for use with a baby seat is if Transport Canada says it was ok. So, i cannot see how you would get a ticket. This is all i know about this. I do know that the tether and the seat belt are supposed to be used in conjuction and that some baby seats use clips that are at the rear part of the seat cushion. Hope this helps.
Ravi, a police officer friend of mine told me that my child seat was not secure... but I don't know how else to make it more secure... do you? There are no seat anchors like in a regular car. The smart only has the one tether anchor and the seat belt. He said that if I ever got pulled over, they would hand me a ticket for sure. :( YIKES!! What do I do? Any suggestions? The manual is VERY vague.
