Smart Configurator

As of today the Configurator at the Smart USA website is still down. I received my email to confirm my order and ultimately finally go to the production floor last week. Then after an error occurred in the confirmation process and a couple calls to the 800# since then they are telling me they are working on this problem still. This is crazy for a technology related problem to take this many days to repair. On a more positive note here in New Jersey we are finally seeing little Smarts populating on the roadways. I am seeing at least three a week now in my 130 mile roundtrip commute. I do sometimes see the same folks one guy stops at Dunkin D's in Medford a lady one on Rte 206 in either the morning or afternoon but I would say on average three new ones a week.

This is the Production configurator once you are actually confirming with the order process!
They are claiming this problem is larger than they had anticipated and it will hopefully be back online soon.

Comment by Al Glover on August 20, 2008 at 8:45pm: Good call, Ed - I was using the Configurator on the smart website. If I may ask, when did you place your order? (I placed mine in Nov. 07 and now have an Oct-Dec 08 DDE and haven't gotten that all-important email)

Comment by Ed Anderson on August 21, 2008 at 2:54pm: Hey! Sounds like we should both be in about the same timeframe. I'm surprised you did not get that email yet. When I was able to check on the DDE before it was showing between Dec 08 and Feb 09 now I cannot get an estimation due to this error with submission of final confirmation. Website still has the error as of today!! One day we will "Get Smart"
