I'm also waiting for my smart fortwo (should be in by end of March). I wish it had cruise control and an arm rest, automatic headlights that turn on and off automatically. The gas mileage is good but not great from such a small car but I'll give up good mileage for a better performance anyday. That's about it. It hasn't prevented me from ordering one and I've never been so anxious to get a new car... It's a great little car.

I purchased the Pulse (Base) model and I am happy with it. would have like to have the paddle shift, but don't mind the gear shift at all and I drove 99% of the time in manual mode. come summer I might wish for the conv model, but other than that I agree with the last comment, I wish I had cruise control!!

Only had mine for a week, but quickly found out that manual with the paddles was best. You're right about the delay when in auto shift. I really like shifting now that I don't have a clutch to fiddle with. Try the manual - you'll love it!

Love the look of the car overall and the heated leather seats. The premium sound system doesn't do much for me but that's probably due to all the road noise in the cabin. Will probably have to look into sound-proofing.

outside of the door panels, where would you put this stuff? under the carpet around the engine area? the passenger footwell has the car battery and flat repair kit in it.

Me again,
I drive a 451 84 Hp Turbo and the missus a 451 71 Hp model. Frankly, I prefer mine! Seriously though, you folks don't know what you're missing by not trying out the Turbo - with the paddle shifters and all that extra torque it's so much more fun!

Likes: Everything except .... wait for it .... NO TEMPOMAT!

Did I say Tempomat? I'll say it again and again until I'm blue in the face, or Mercedes Benz realise they've dropped a big booboo by not fitting this indispensable piece of equipment in the new model.

The best thing about my smart cabrio is the smile I can't get off my face. The worst thing is the pain-in-the-ass dealer (smart center san diego) that I have to deal with. They have few parts and accessories, no upgrade information and won't event let the local smart club (smart set san diego) post flyers at the dealership announcing rallyes and get togethers. Can you imagine that! Especially since EVERY smart down here was sold by that dealership. They claim it is company policy. BS to you, Roger Penske
