He guys look at this. Ok I have the Motorola Droid and they have an app. (called Torque its free) I'm sure iphone/ipod has it also. It uses a obd2 bluetooth adaptor and wireless transfer data to the phone. has all odb2 information like Coolant temp/speed/engine load/rpm/ fuel level/miles per gallon/miles per average/timing advance/volt/turbo boost gauge (if you have a turbo (luckyduck). you can choose Graph. Gauge. Dail. choose gauge colors and sizes. the bluetooth can be bought on internet for about $29-$59. not a bad deal and can be moved to other cars.also other free apps will let you read and clear codes.
