I'm a little bit surprised to find that my Smart needs servicing already. I thought the turbo version should go for 10,000 miles.
Its an 84bhp UK car that has done 7300 miles since March 08.
Over the last few weeks the distance to service appeared to be around 1800 km? but this has dropped to days now and is reading 12, having dropped daily from 20.
Does this sound correct?

Dealer is NOT wrong.
There is an electrostatic sensor in the oil pan that can judge relative oil quality via particulates in oil AND the computer judges speeds, operating temps, throttle loads and other perameters to possibly call you in before 10,000 miles...or later.
