Paul, What size rims? What happens if one has a flat in the front and all you have is a spar rear tire?? I read somewhere that the dealer's have a spare that can be used for the front or rear. This rim and tire is used by dealers to move new cars that develop a flat before delivery to the customer, that way they don't have to use the tire sealant. Have you heard of this? No rim has been release as far as I know that is for both front and rear. For surety of clearance most folks are purchasing the front wheel to use as a spare.

Wouldn't the front wheel work on the back without issue?

Maybe thats what people are using as the dealer spare as the are the same height, same bolt pattern the only difference I know is the width of the rim and tire?

Thanks for the quick reply. I heard that some people are moving the rear tires to the front and replacing the rear tires with a 195/50R 15. No clearance problems have been mentioned. What do you think ? Neal

I run 195/50 R15s on the rear and the smart comes with this size from the factory in Europe so there is no issues with clearance.

I also run 175/55 R15 on the front, which are the rear size, again no issue as again the smart comes with this size from the factory in Europe.

Only thing is I don't know if the factory rims can support a 195/50 R15 on the rear and 175/55 R15 on the front, if they can they your golden, otherwise you might need to upgrade the rim width which is what I did to get these sizes.

the rear wheels will support 195/50-15 tires, that is the minimum wheel width (5.5") for these tires

Can you quote a price for a full set of wheels, pressure sensors and snow tires mounted?

Given your location, snow tires may not be readily available. If that's the case, please quote for the rims & sensors only

They do not include TPMS because most folks are just buying one for a spare. If someone wants an entire spare set of wheels, just keep im mind a trip to the dealer will be necessary to "register" the new TPMS to their smart's computer unless they just mount the original TPMS from their original wheels. I understand this will become a concern for those living in snow states. When it does snow in Round Rock Texas, this place shuts down so I won't be a vendor for snow tires.

TPMS sensors are available for those wanting to create an entire spare set to have ready for the winter months. TPMS $101.23 each and for some reason they do not come with the nut to fasten them to wheels. I am working on that and will post smart USA's answer when I get it.
