those aftermarket cruise controllers are piggy backed and are not part of the ECU. they are wired separately.

It was not a mistake, it had more to do with the lack of space on the smarts drive by wire computer and its allowable inputs. There was simply no more room for it in the current design.
I agree with Julie O about not needing cruise control most of the time, but when I drive the smart a longer distance (anything approaching 2 hours or more) over straight flat roads my right leg really starts feeling it, and I'm wishing I had cruise…

- no tengo los "cojones" para ir al departamento de automotores y con cara seria pedir mi placa con cojones! Por igual cada placa es revisada por un panel para no dajar pasar nada insultante, relijioso, o racista. por fortuna pude obtener 5marty que de lejos se lee como smarty.. de ser por mi le pondria pepito.. y en el cuadro debajo de la placa le pondria cojones.. Alfin es asi como mi esposa me dise que manejo.. Pepito cojones!
