Driving a Brabus!!..Much better experience!!

Fans out there,
I finally got to trade my Passion Cabriolet for Silver Brabus Coupe!!
It was a long process but finally done with it last weekend!!
I have to tell that Smart Team @ Mercedez North Houston was very helpful. I am very pleased with the service this time!!
I cannot complain!! They helped me with all the process including the trading and financing!! Thanks to you all!!

I am very Happy with my New Silver Brabus Coupe...It is quieter, and smoother to drive. Once you start driving in it you can feel the difference. I Highly recommend it if you want to buy one!!

Fabio!!

The engine is the same as a regular Smart. In fact, the only differences are tires, wheels, suspension, exhaust, body panels and trim. I have only driven one regular Smart and that was two years ago at the Smart Road Tour. My Brabus coupe is only a little over a month old with less than 300 miles, but I like it a lot. It feels a lot tighter and buttoned down if you understand my meaning. There is less body roll and less porposing with gear changes. Try a Brabus back to back with a regular Passion and I think you will be glad to pay the difference.

Reply: Wider tires on wider rims are said to help handling a lot. Some have put the same size tires on all four corners. You can probably do this yourself if you don't change the diameter of the tires from stock. The harder shocks and tires used on the Brabus are a tad more difficult for the DIY person, but can also be done by shady-tree mechanics. Even the exhaust can be handled by a half-decent wrench twirler. Now you're ready to put a turbo in!

Speaking of suspension, is there anything we as new owners can do to soften the ride a little. Like - lower the airpreassure in the tires? What is lowest preasure you can run? Also, what should the RPMs be when idleing? Thanks, HandRsmart

Reply: Don't lower the tire pressure! It will only make the car handle worse, overheat your tires and ruin your mileage as well as your peace of mind.

Got my Brabus May 30 2009, I was very satisfied the added changes the Mercedez did. The acceleration is good when you use the paddle. The rim's are all stencil with BRABUS.The Exchust pipe sound good.(Not as loud as my Harley)lol....The suspension are design by Mercedez. I agree with George a 100%.

I like the fact that myBrabus has very sticky firm grip the road tires and suspension. This thing rides like a Go Kart, and is virtually unaffected by Big trucks. No more than my 94 Caddy was. I expected to be blown all over the road, NOT! I highly recomend the Brabus.

What makes it so different?
Engine is Brabus?
Brakes?
Tires and wheels?
Brabus suspension?

maybe you should invest in secondary keys or a divorce. i couldn't lock the doors inside a smart with the keys, couldn't set off the alarm inside it either. i'd choose the latter. my wife is a stupid bitch and i sent her on her way back to russia, w…

Herb, well it's more than timing. The nitty-gritty of what maps are adjusted and how, is, as you might imagine, secret. But I can tell you that Piasini does adjust timing, as well as throttle maps, fuel curves(including full throttle enrichment, low…

Well for what its worth and knowledge being golden, you are welcomed to share the door unlocking technique with me. My wife has managed on complete accident on 2 occasions to securely lock the keys to one of our other cars inside, with the engine ru…

Interesting reply. So the 20% increase in Rear Wheel Horsepower (RWHP) can most likely be attributed to remapping the ignition timing? I see that you also offer reflashes for the engine controller on MB's SL 230K. Does the same software work on the…

Well, in truth, we have seen a little incease in fuel efficiency, but that sort of seems to get lost with customers. Most folks are so amused with the increased performance of their car, they forget the got it for economy reasons and keep the right…

to prevent "auto-lock" from happening next time, leave the rear window "ajar", it prevents the car from locking. the smart car is very "anal", open it and don't slap it down tight, just push it to near closed position. this prevents the "auto-lock"…
