Has anyone had contact with the folks at Smarts-R-us in the past week or so (today is Thurs 13 March)? The reason I am asking is that a parts order for an armrest has not yet shown up, and it has been almost a month now. Repeated emails to Smarts-R-us over the last 10 days have gone unanswered even though I had been previously notified that the item had been shipped. I am hoping that there is a simple explanation for their non-contact rather than just assuming they have taken my money and not delivered the material. Any information would be appreciated.

I've sent some emails off to Smarts-R-Us and also haven't received a reply to those emails, the emails where sent off last week, strangely enough I did buy something from them via eBay last week and got a reply from them via eBay.

Maybe they are having mail problems, as I don't see why they'd not reply to you emails and mine, both us happily wanting to spend money :)

I'd maybe try giving them a call on Tuesday, but I will say overall I've delt with almost all people selling smart parts and they are all very slow in replies, I'd hope it was due to the large demand but either way I'd love to have some quicker replies especially if any of these vendors want to start servising the US market.

After 3 weeks of no response to multiple emails I finally placed a California to Nottingham phone call to them on Monday, 16 March. I reached Kris Fish, who was apologetic about not getting any information to me about the order and mentioned that "they had some server problems a few weeks back", but that things had been working for some time now. He said he would immediately look into the situation and get back as soon as he had some information. Why the dodgy "server problems" excuse and the lack of instaneous look-up capability I don't know for sure, but I suspect Smarts-R-Us is in deep doo-doo. A poster on another site had put out a warning about them being in a "financial hole" back in January, though I did not know about it until last week.

4 days have now passed without any information or contact from Smarts-R-Us. I have called VISA and disputed the billing...VISA has looked into it and credited my account with the charges. I have informed Smarts-R-Us that I have cancelled the order due to lack of communication and non-delivery. I will do no business with them in the future and would caution anyone thinking of buying from them to be EXTREMELY wary. I am sorry it had to come to this.

Well, in truth, we have seen a little incease in fuel efficiency, but that sort of seems to get lost with customers. Most folks are so amused with the increased performance of their car, they forget the got it for economy reasons and keep the right…

to prevent "auto-lock" from happening next time, leave the rear window "ajar", it prevents the car from locking. the smart car is very "anal", open it and don't slap it down tight, just push it to near closed position. this prevents the "auto-lock"…

LOL, sorry, learn something new everyday, if you're not careful! probably the 10mph "auto-lock" feature kicked in. i've found the only other way (so far) to lock the keys in the car is by locking the doors from the outside and tossing the keys throu…

I left the ignition on to tow my Smart Car a short way on a car dolly. Do not do this with the windows up. The doors automatically lock! It took me two hours to figure out how to get in without damabing the car.
