It way time to do some surgery on the Smart.
I decided that the horn in the Smart is a week link and needed my attention. I decided to replace it with the best name in the industry Hellla. Except I wanted the horn loud and the best choice was Hella Twin horns. Hella Horns are loud and can blow your years out if you are not careful. The install is simple just remove the old horn use the same mounting screw that the old horn used and then install the second one on the opposite side. Very simple operation but the results are tremendous.

Just installed these puppies in mi smartie.. have not driven any where but at least my daughter "tested" them for me as she came out to the garage and jumped out of her skin... she said they really hurt her ears but "they sound cool" Ahh approval from the young generation! not bad....

Having them dose help.

I've been using them a little more now than before.. But some times a train horn would be more suitable for the morons I encounter on the road!

I have a question. Did you use the included relay when you installed the horns??? Do you remeber which diagram you used?
I just received my horns and am going to install them this weekend. That stock horn is dangerous, I've been cut off several times and used my horn but I'm not sure they even heard me.

DAVE, I did not use the relay. I wired the horns like it said to.. in parallel, meaning that from the (neg) cable that was originally plugged into the OEM horn, I put in a Y cable to the two (neg) spades on the horns.. then the same, a Y cable from the (pos) to the two (pos) spades. this worked perfectly and all I needed to make were the two wire harnesses with the two male ends to couple to the OEM wires and the four female connectors at the other ends. The connectors I bought at Radio Shack and the cable.. I rummaged from my many projects in the garage. Just make sure you use a good gage wire and the connectors are shielded as they are going to be in a hot dirty and wet environment.

Nice work! What did you mount the horn on the non-OEM side? Thanks!
