451 smart fortwo

I am aware that I can "flat tow" my smartcar but I want to tow it on a trailer along wtih my golf cart. I have looked at the Smat trailer but that only has room or one vehicle. I want a trailer that allows me to "side load" my Smart on the front part and my golf cart on the rear. Has anyone seen such a trailer or know someone who will build one for me? Becasue of the short length of the Smart Car it could sit sidways behine my motor home and not hand over. I just need a trailer that will allow me to load it that way. Thanks!

While looking for an ultralight trailer to tow BEHIND the smart itself I remembered seeing this. http://www.alumaklm.com/a8812_atv_trailer.html . It is no doubt too light duty to haul the smart, but it is a starting place to ask questions. Featherlite makes a similar one http://www.fthr.com/atv_recreational-trailer/model1694atv/ It says the sides come off and are used as ramps. They also offer tire and suspension upgrades. Hope this helps. Here's one more http://www.worthingtontrailers.com/trailers/atv/atv_trailers.aspx GVW to 5000 on these. They also do customs.

There is something odd about the diesel smart not being available in all markets. In Australia we seem to have all the SUV diesels (including diesel Jeeps!) plus the new crop of small French diesel cars and the VW's... but not the smart. We don't ...

I have Yakima bars and bike racks that I bought in the US; so when I looked on the Yakima site a while back, I found the Q Towers... full of enthusiasm, I contacted Yakima and was told they cannot ship outside of the US. So I'm stuck in Australia ...

Yep... I read somewhere that all cars sold in the USA were supposed to be fitted with an OBD port after 1995... but a 2001 smart was never sold in the USA (unless it was special import) ? The ScanGauge is not fully compatible with some of the ear...

that is a pretty big disappointment because where I live the electric car is not a very efficient vehicle with it only getting 80 miles to a charge. And my understanding the diesel is getting 90 miles to a gallon.

From what I have heard & read, the diesel will not be coming to the US. We will get the ED (electric drive) within a year if everything goes as planned.
