Looking to replace the SMART on the back of my BRABUS Smart to BRABUS anyone played with taking the logo off I think it is just held on by an adhesive.

Its stuck on VARY tight... The plastic body panel will be dented if you start prying it up with a screw driver, or something like that, so be careful (it you do, use a backer to lift against)... Even when your lifting it up and have it coming off, be careful the back SHARP edge of the letters does not touch the Panel because it will dent-cut the soft plastic panel...
I took mine off by using a Tuff Nylon string... Holding it in each hand, and sliding under each letter Cutting through the foam backing tape... (what ever you do, go slow to protect your soft plastic body panel)

any idiot who uses a screw driver on any car panel smart or not is just too dumb to drive a car period. Thanks for your idea I usally heat up the adhesive but was worried about the panels being plastic (melting) never thought of the nylon wire that should work great. thanks (photos to follow)

wax dental floss works fantastic for removing the emblems and GOO GONE glue remover works fantastic to take up any remaining glue that may still be on the panel. GOO GONE can be found in any auto parts store.

+1 for dental floss

Hey 007
What did you stick in those tubes?

dental floss rules.. use the waxed tipe.. it sticks to itself better. then use a citrus oil remover to remove the remaining glue.

~$3.53 each~if you do this "You'll Love Them"~one of the Best Low Cost Easiest Mods you will ever do to your Smart~
~DeDion tube ends~
~They are a Perfect (snug)(just press & wiggle them in by hand) Fit...<:-)) I Dremeled out a center hole ~ Taped around the end that slips into the 3" tube (its just the right size already) and painted them Silver (I used "Rust-Oleum" paint~it worked good) after scrubbing them down with a "SOS" pad to make sure that they were Clean & free of any mold release resido ~ I drilled a little hole for a little screw in the 3" Tube just to make sure they would not back out...
NOTE: I also Bought a Spray Can of Black Barbecue HiTemp to spray the Muffler Shield ~ the little Exhaust Tip ~ and the visible Silver from the Rear lower part of the Tranny Pumpkin ~ All that Silver Crap under there just disappears when L00KING from 20ft. behind (looks like My Picture) Naturally I cleaned it up good before spraying, and I shielded anything I didn't want painted with Tape & News Paper before spraying...

I shuttered at the idea that a screwdriver would dare be brought to bear as a tool to remove the lettering or logo from the panels of anyone's smart. One should not even suggest such a mis-adventure. Then someone mentioned heat. Aaaahhhhh. I guess this is just the remnants of "Old School" thinking. The waxed floss and plastic line are both good choices. Pull your smart up into the garage, in the shade where you can work comfortably. Taking your time and being patient will most likely yield the results you want. A word of caution!!! Test the product you are using removing the excess glue/adhesive. Be certain NOT to use any abrasive materials/products. Have fun and best of luck with your end results.

Sorry I don't have the answer for you, just curious why you are hesitant to ask the service department of your smart dealer.
