Hi,... How many miles on that 2008 you just bought...???
Yes you can change them Panels yourself, and buy panels from the dealer or buy panels that other owners are selling... Its vary easy to change panels...

Note: make sure your car has the Free 2.0 firmware update, and remember the first sign of shifting problems, to get it to the Dealer for a NEW Clutch ASAP... Its a problem with 2008's...!!! There is a New Improved Clutch for this known problem...

Thanks for the reply. My car had 16000 kms. Is the free 2.0 firmware something I can do?

Is there any way to tell what firmware I have? I watched a youtube video and one of the things they did was switch to gear mode from drive mode by just hitting the paddles. Is this a 2.0 feature ?

haha. i dont know if this is by chance BUT my engine light JUST went on today and when my car is shifting I can hear it being louder like its almost grinding. Taking it in tomorrow to get it checked.
I wonder if that is the shifting problem?

well i took of the gas and put it back on and its fine now. as for the engine sounding lounder, i had pulled up to a tim hortons with the window down and never had heard the engine before. iv'e always driven with the windows up. How loud is a smart engine supposed to be?

Its a Dealer installed Shifting update to the Cars Computer... Dealer could check to see if its been updated...

If you tap the (-) paddle on your steering wheel IN DRIVE, and the dash turns to a number "1,2,3,4,5" instead of "D" you have the transmission flash update on your 2008 Passion or Cabrio. Pures, I don't know how you would check as they don't have paddle shifters. to re-engage "D: drive you must hold the (+) paddle for 2 seconds... and the dash will turn back to "D".
