Dealer just told me that there is a leak in the vacuum for the fuel tank on my 2008 451 Smart ForTwo as well as a physical leak.
The service rep said other cars had this issue. Cost me $1300. Shouldn't this be a recall? These guys need to get their act together and stand behind there product. Up to this point I loved this car. This could happen to any garbage American car easily because GM and Chrysler are very poorly designed, but this is supposed to be German engineering(?) WTF. I am 6k out of warranty at 31,000 miles. What kind of car needs to have the gas tank replaced that early?
I love this car, but they just lost my trust. What a piece of shit.
I intent to write Smart USA, The Better Business Bureau and our Consumer Affairs office of the Attorney General here in Phoenix a strongly worded letter about this POS model.
