I am a big fan of carbon fiber and while I couldn't get the real thing for the project car I did find a guy in Europe that does a really good job in recreating the carbon fiber look on almost any type of part.

I had him do the carbon look the the trim around the gauges on the dash as well as the end caps on the turn single/wiper arms.

His work end up looking like real carbon fiber that has a high gloss finish and is about a 10th of the price, so it made me more then happy.

The install was quick and easy, I have the install with photos on a blog post here:

As for the quick install guide that is blow:

Installing this made me a little nervous as this was a hand made part and the creator hadn’t installed or even seen a 451 before he did this for me and his instructions where simply to pull the old one off. The trim had a dozen clamps and I didn’t know if simply pulling would take it off without damaging anything but I pulled and pulled and then click the factory trim came off nice and easily.

Putting the new carbon fiber trim on was just as easy, simply line up with the factory holes and click the trim into place and your done. It was all of about 2 minutes to install.

Great photos and the dash trim looks Greaaat. You might want to add the name and address of the person who did the work so we can put it in our edex for future use.
Sorry about that, when I wrote the post his site wasn't online with the parts, but it is now.

His site is here:

There are a lot of items he's created for the 451, while I have a couple and a few more coming in I've not gotten the all the parts as still want the carbon to be more of accents rather then dominating factor in the interior.Delete Comment
I had a VIS CF hood and front lip on my Miata and loved the look. So now I see the pics on the site, but it still has different options and no english. I want to buy, but need a translator.
To all on the thread :)

I hope by the end of this thread you may have a sigh of relief. I just wanted to humbly drop in to let you know that we at smartmadness.com have an exclusive US partnership with parts and prints.

We are big fans of Michael's art and skill, and simply wanted to make it easy (no customs, translation, currency exchange) for enthusiasts like you to have easy access to such cool Smart accessories. The url is a bit too long to paste without corruption, but if you go to our site, and type in carbon fiber within the search, you'll find what we carry.

In the meantime, if there is anything else we may be of help with, please don't hesitate to let us know. Our mission is to provide Smart owners what they need to make their Smart theirs. If we can't sell, well you know.. that's all she wrote.

To You, Yours and Your Smart,
SmartGurl (aka smartmadness.com)
