Not the hardest install but one that I enjoyed the after effect of. Adding in the nice shinny silver pedals really makes a difference every time I enter/leave the car I see them and they look good.
Anyone who has seen the car with the drivers door open has commented on them, so I guess I'm not the only one that notices them, but all comments are good ones and they do make me smile.
Installing the pedals took less then 5 minutes, the brake pedal took the longest as you have to remove the factory rubber by peeling it off and then snapping the new pedal on. The gas pedal takes all of 10 seconds as you just simply slide it on and it clips into place. Both pedals require no tools, no screws and no mess to install. I mention that as there are some aftermarket pedals, some even claim to be “brabus” but they require you to screw into the factory pedals and would be far less stable.
My dealer knows nothing about the pedals. His only statement was that they might carry Brabus accessories next year, but that he didn't know anything for sure. Is there some source for these parts other than the dealer?

Easy to order these pedals (Brabus)on ebay
I did for about 99 euro at
http://stores.ebay.de/smart-shop24_W0QQcolZ2QQdirZQ2d1QQfsubZQ2d999...
they have english speaking personal ask for John.
Thanks for the link to www.ccc-mobile.de. I tried to access the Brabus pedals on their site with no luck (my German is mostly limited to "Danke"), but I did get a list of telephone numbers. You suggested talking to John, but the 4 telephone numbers are for Aachen, Bonn, and 2 stores in Köln. Do you remember which store you talked to? I believe Germany will be a 9 hour differential for a phone call from California, so that means I'll have to leap out of bed at 6-7 in the morning to catch them.
Thanky you for the links to the 2 sites selling the Brabus "Sportpedallauflagen" brake and gas pedals. After making extensive use of an online German-to-English translation site, I finally managed to place an order on Ebay with Werner Automobile (Germany). These pedals are not what I would call inexpensive at 95 EUR and in addition to that, the shipping costs from Germany add on another 35 EUR. I am still awaiting the arrival of my smart, probably sometime around mid-year, and am enjoying it vicariously through buying the accessories ahead of time. Thanks again for your help.

Hello Gryphon,
I am happy you find the parts,
Sorry that you have to wait for your new car but its nice to do some part shopping in europe,
and collect some wanted extra,s for it.
35 euro posting its a lot but its a long way to you (From Germany to Holland same package cost me
14 euro) so i think its resonable.
I had 3 months delivery time in september 2007 for my fortwo.
I became new owner in jan 2008.
My second car is a fortwo cabrio 2001 model (3cyl 600cc turbo)
So these days i total in to Smart.
I the new (451) one is much more a smooth drive then the old one.
Stronger engine and more comfort.
I got the 84HP Turbo and its pretty fast.
There is a German tuner who makes 114HP from the 84HP
and 118mls max speed 190km.
Nice for a print to 60mls (100km) in 8.9Sec instead of 10.9Sec
But its fast enough as it is
It runs 160km on the instrument.
measure on my Gps=147km(91.8Mls) (when 1 mile is 1.6km i think.
Also another nice link is http://www.berlin-tuning.com (copie past)

Yes 451 Khan, they actually are great pedals. The rubber nodules make them very tactile, and your feet definitely "don't miss a step" when it comes to foot placement while driving. And yes, we have the BRABUS floor mats too. We have both in our demo car, and it just has a very clean, quality look to it.
So yes, we carry the BRABUS pedals and mats, and actually have the best price on the market. Come on over and get them while they're hot, the pedals that is; legs aren't included ;)
Cheers,
SmartGurl (lol... smartmadness.com) it's so hard to be serious at such a funny picture for product placement, and me saying "legs aren't included". while trying to be serious with a product description :))
