Alternative Mounting for Scangauge

There has been a lot of good ideas on where and how to mount the scangauge. I couldn't choose which one I wanted. I didn't want anything to permanent. So I went to fry's and looked at winshield suction mounts for cellphones/GPS. I found one for about $16. A little modifications to the mounting area and some double sided tape and now my scangauge is eye level and I can still move it from vehicle to vehicle. (see attached picture)

that works, originally i was going to mount mine on the fascia below my radio, but to see it i'd have to take my eyes off the road. I have 3 gps units, all have window suction cups AND dash mounting plates. i think i might do a dash plate mount similarly placed. well done!

Thanks for that simple but effective solution! I've had my ScanGauge for a few weeks now and just had it sitting on the lip below the glove box. Good location for my passenger, but not for me while driving. I too wanted something that wasn't built in or permanent.

Thanks for the photo as well

If you have the pods, you can wrap the cord around their bases, secure with a twist tie and run the excess into a coil in the right cubby. It doesn't block the tack at all or enough of the clock to matter. You can also unplug it and put it under the seat if you'll be in the sun for a long period. Moving it from car to car would only require undoing the one twist tie. I've had mine there for months and it actually looks better than it sounds.
