We the Lost Angels Smart 451S owners did a Canyon run lat week. The purpose of the run was to learn and experience how our cars handle. Hill climbs, hard left and right turns at high speeds and normal speed. Down hill hair pin turns and S shape curves.
One thing was very clear that Smart dose it all very well. The Smart engine is very well matched for the challenge. It accelerates going up the mountain road very well.
Stability at 70 and above gets better with larger front tires. No other change is required to the suspension I believe. Springs can be changed to adjust the ride height as one wants for better looks performance and lowering the center of gravity of the 451.
The starting point is going to better set of tires.
Do not exceed the tire height of original rear tire by more then few mm.
Use the link below to check tire heights and speed changes.
