Thule made it for the 450 version? Didn't know...
I have the base rack for a 450 cabrio (won't fit on a coupe) If you're interested. You will just have to buy the bike adapter.
yes still interested, how much for your rack?...
john, and where are you?
(sorry, I was out of town last week...)
150$ for the rack (400$ new...). I also have the original smart skis adapter if interested (25$ > 88$ new).
I'm near Montreal. I can go to Ottawa, I need to buy some wine available only at the LCBO... :)
thank you very much for your help Martin, I am very sorry if I was a bother......will continue my search, thx.
john
Oh Martin I had missed your reply for the rack, how about $125 and I would probably take it when you come to M.T.L......JUST HAVE TO FIND THE ADAPTOR,.....is yours a single bike rack holder?.....sorry if i sound dum with my questions, just very busy these days, and under stress.....
thx for your reply...
john
Just to be sure you have all the details, here isa a quick recap about the OEM smart rack
- 2 config. possible: Coupé ou cabrio. A coupé rack won't fit on a cabrio.
- You need at least the base rack. Everything else is just adaptors for it. So, you'll need a base rack, + the bike adaptor. Or base rack + ski adaptor...
- If ou buy a used base rack, there is a very good chance that the mounting brackets won't be included. They can be removed (at least on a coupé), but probably not on a cabrio.
I have the base rack, cabrio version if you're interested. 125$ no problem. You'll still need to find a pair of mounting brackets, and the bike adaptor.
About the bike adaptor, it holds 2 bikes. As you can see on this picture :
On this car, you have:
- The base rack for a cabrio (as mine)
- The bike adaptor, mounted on the base rack.
I hape all these details will help you, even if you decide to buy something else! Most important is not to buy something that won't fit or is inapropriate to suit your needs!
