ECU Remap Increase HP 10% and Fuel economy

Veloce Performance Introduces Smart Tuning...
With the advent of the Smart Car in the US, Veloce software guys have been busy putting a tune together for 451 fortwo.

While not a rocket ship, they are seeing a roughly 10% improvement in hp/tq. A widening of the torque band for better delivery as well as improved throttle response. Overall it gives the Smart a nice little 'kick' in the butt!

I am working with them to get 451S members get a discount.

Nah. If you want a kick in the butt with a 451 you've got to have a turbo in there. I'd be furious if I lived in the States and knew what an 84hp turbo smart drove like and then found out I could only buy the normally aspirated one. 10hp extra? Remaps on the turbo model get you an extra 25% - yes, a 105hp smart, folks, and that's without even having to pay the rip off prices they charge for a Brabus. Mind you, just in case I'll wait for the guarantee to run out before I go for a remap and meanwhile the little 84hp Pulse (that means wider tyres - better handling) I run around in is still plenty of fun.

In United States we at present don't have the option of a 85 HP turbo. Talking to Roger Penske I was told that in early 2009 Brabus options will make their way to U.S Smart dealers and maybe the Brabus 451 might make its way to our shores later in 2009. But in the mean time we just have to get what ever juice we can get out of the furious 999cc engine we can. 10 HP from remap another 6 HP from a Exhaust , 2 to 3 HP with a K&N filter and for more punch we might add some 100 octane fuel. I am just happy and thankful to Penske for bringing us the Smart experience.

Unleash the 'Beast' Thanks to Veloce for working on my ECU. Dino and his team are working to turn the 451 into a pocket rocket.

About Veloce:
Our group of enthusiasts is a mix of software engineers, automotive engineers, and race and test drivers. Together, this very special team has put together a diverse group of performance enhancements for a wide range of cars. These enhancements are targeted at enthusiast drivers…like you!

Dino Micalizio, an avid racer who has run everything from hill climbs in Ferraris, to Vintage racing an Indycar, and everything in between, founded Veloce Performance. Dino decided to make an alliance with this European Super Tuning Team after searching for more power and no speed limiter in his Mercedes Benz SL55. Amazed by the remarkably improved performance, and 202mph top speed, he decided to bring these great products to the US, and keep prices affordable. He wanted to beat the competition in performance, and price…he succeeded and the result is Veloce Performance!
