The starting sequence is a safety / security sequence (stops the teenagers borrowing the car)...

The Owners manual should be in a plastic folder, stored under the passenger seat with Velcro. A PDF copy of the USA issue is / was available from a download site.
The Workshop manual is only available to MB smart...

The Evilution site was great! Slowly I'm printing my own manual.

my Smart Dealer told me that this is a problem with the Light-/Rainsensor (>several customers reported him about the same problem).
If left activated it consumes power even when the car is locked.So better turn off the system if you descide...
