I'm taking the first steps in upgrading the sound system in my smart. I know that the speakers are 6 1/2" but what I dont know is how much depth there is to work with behind the speaker. Since we have to work with limitations, I want to be able to put in the best door speakers I can without having to modify the interior door panel. Please, if you know how much space there is to work with behind the door speakers, I'd love to hear from you. If you've already done an upgrade, I'd like to know what speakers (make and model) you used and if you have any positive or even negative feedback. I've added a nice touch screen head unit, plays DVD's, My iPod hooks directly too it, I added a Bluetooth module (This part is amazing) and it sounds great. Thanks Pioneer - Nice Stuff!!. I also had the door speakers replaced, installing some nice Alpine components with directional tweeters installed just above the speakers. Great Match and they look like they belong. Sounds wonderful. Of course we all know that getting a little boom is hard, given the close quarters. I installed a self contained 10" sub - Amp unit by BOSS. No it will not restart the heart of the person in the car ahead of me but inside MY Smart, it adds more than enough boom when I want it. I have to put credit where it is due - Hats off to Peter at the Altamonte Springs BestBuy install department for all his hard work. He did a good job.

I have found that the site "Evilution" has helped me in the past and when i have asked for infomation, Kane has always replied. I leave a donation once in a while just to help him keep the site going.

Well, you see this sort of page cropping up everywhere nowadays and I was looking to pack the site out a bit so I thought "sod it, why not"? I don't drink (except a few over Christmas), I don't smoke (unless I'm careless with the welder) so any donation won't be spent on crap. Most of the cash will either go to paying for the hosting which isn't really that much (refreshing to hear that isn't it?) or it will be spent on things for one of the team.s cars. What ever is bought, the site will benefit from the information
