Door Speakers - What Fits

I'm taking the first steps in upgrading the sound system in my smart. I know that the speakers are 6 1/2" but what I dont know is how much depth there is to work with behind the speaker. Since we have to work with limitations, I want to be able to put in the best door speakers I can without having to modify the interior door panel.
