I have heard from several people from different forums that they would like an intake system for the Smart Car. I've attached a picture of an Intake system that we are offering.
that's what i was thinking, a "splash guard" would be cool. i haven't seen the install, but seeing the intake and knowing the smart's engine compartment, was guessing the intake would be close to the ground and in front of the engine.
i would guess the air mass sensor is housed in the intake manifold, after the filter assembly, it would be silly to place it elsewhere.
i'd still like to have what that certain someone is smoking or drinking to think this unit can heat 3000 liters of air 30F per minute!
no gary, a one liter engine consumes one liter of air/fuel per revolution, a smart engine runs 3000 revolutions per minute at 60 mph. please adjust your thinking cap, it's seems to be a little on the tight side. remember, 3000 liters is only 106 cubic feet.
i know holley carbs that suck down 850 cubic feet a minute on some V8's. 29 years ago i drove a firebird that was a bit modified, N50-15 tires, rear air shocks, which jacked the rear up so much the rear view mirror was useless.
where do you think "one liter" comes from? it's engine capacity, the volume/capacity of all cylinders in one revolution/cycle.
ummm... you just snatched the dunce cap from the annointed one, obama.
it's lonely at the top, my IQ is in the upper 130's, which puts me at the top 1% of "smart" people
All of you people who have Scangauge please report your air temperature as Scangauge reports and also the out side temperature that your car shows. This will give us some good readings.
Lets go for a drive.

Generally speaking, smart people have jobs and can afford scan gauges rather than just chatting about it.
The feds caught you with that cell jammer yet? I've sent your posts to them so they can keep an eye out for you. They don't have computers in jail, so I won't have to see your posts anymore.
i have had 3 interviews a week, the last few weeks, the last few were promising. i can go on for maybe 20 years or so before having to work. my home mortgage was paid off 16 years ago and i have two 401k accounts.
gary, you are still a 1st class moron to me.
i can afford a SG2, i choose not to buy one until i am working again. my smart was paid off 3 months after purchase.
when you learn elementary mathematics, bring it on! a smart consumes 3000 liters of air/fuel every minute at 60mph.

Each piston must make four up/down cycles to take in, compress, fire and then exhaust. That requires two revolutions of the crankshaft. Each time the piston rises and then falls is one revolution. Intake/Compression/Power/Exhaust = 2 rotations of the crankshaft. Each cylinder is 'intaking' one time every two revolutions. This is why the camshaft(s) rotate(s) at half the speed of the crankshaft.
Your math is wrong. A 1 liter engine takes in one half if its total available volume of fuel/air each revolution.
And your 'brake-by-wire' hypothysis is wrong, too, genius. How do you dream this stuff up?
um, each piston goes up and down twice in a cycle, SUCK down, SQUEEZE up, compression POP power and PHOOOIE down, exhaust.
either way, the capacity of the cylinders is one liter. stop with the BS. go back to the volume of the cylinders, tell me if the volume is 500cc's

What a goofball! Look up the bore and stroke. Total volume is 1 liter. Each revolution results in .5 liter intake...AND .5 liter exhaust. Half is taking in, half the volume is exhausting. And you are extremely exhausting!
