Permalink Reply by mr bad example on December 23, 2008 at 5:35pm: yeah, my lowest MPG on the SG was 39 and that was in -4F, the coolant never reached 170F. when it's freezing i get mid 40's. my daily commute is 12.3 miles one way with an average speed of 22-24mph (lots of stop and go with speed limits of 35-45mph. the SG is a wonderful tool/device.; ▶ Reply to This

Of course, when you pull up in a smart, everyone HAS to tell you how their "UmptyMobile" gets 39 mpg (in town) but on their last trip it got an amazing forty-hmmm mpg for the whole trip.
I just tell them, "Sure, I get that a lot." so's not to cause any trouble.
One lady told me her four year old Explorer got 45 mpg on her last trip. . . I couldn't even comment on that one.; ▶ Reply to This
