Take a closer look at your Smart and you will come to see one thing. It is very easy to work on. The parts are very easy to exchange and even the engine is build in a way that in a few hours it can be replaced with a new one. Just pull one pod out and bolt in a new one. Take a look at the pictures below and you will see what I mean.
Took the Smart out to the mountains. Most of the cars were stuck and the Smart kept going no chains. The car just handles very well. The CHP officer was driving in front of me and his car was slipping and sliding as was just driving without any problem. I could have easily overtake him except he would have given me a ticket but then again he would have had to catch me.
Yes Marry Christmas to you also. You U are right, I am in BB. Tons of snow and powder and more coming down. CHP has closed the main road as to many accidents. Snow chains are required except if you are in a Smart. Ha ha
i'd prefer fatter tires (still riding on stock ones) but i still pass everything on the road in the snow. i'm working second shift and i'm going home at midnight, and driving on un-plowed roads in blizzard conditions (chicago area). next year i'm thinking of going to 185/60-15's, the fronts lose traction on icy turns (i'm used to FWD and FAT tires (195/50-15's on a geo metro)
