I'm concerned about my engine light coming on and off. I like the car so much that I haven't mentioned the problem to people who stop to ask me about the car. I've had the car in to the MB dealership in Tampa twice. I'm coming up on the outcome of the 2nd visit ... "give us two weeks and we'll resolve the service issue." I can't be, and I've read, that I'm not the only one with this problem. Just wondering if anyone else resolved it. I understand one gentleman who purchased the car here in Tampa may be getting a replacement vehicle because they can't seem to find the issue. Oh well ... just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this.

Lemon law in California is one way but you should check your State laws.

I know about the Lemon Law and they've even inlcuded a brochure in the new car manual. But, in Florida ... to try and get anything accomplished is nearly impossible. The Lemon Law is all wonderful for the consumer .. but in action it rarely occurs. At this point they've got till next Wednesday to come up with a resolution. After reading blogs I am now aware I'm not the only one with an "engine light issue". It is sad, because I've enjoyed the car so much I don't even tell people about the engine light issue. The MercBenz dealership deal I don't believe is going to work. I think they've got one trained individual.

John: Gee, that is a revelation. I didn't realize Dave had that kind of a reputation. He has been helpful but I have felt "put off". This last go around with the engine light is "supposedly going to be resolved by next Wednesday with a call from them". I've decided it I don't get a call by then I'm going to let them see my nasty side. I'm still pissed that I bought a convertible (one was on the floor but "sold'). I paid for mine, two days later they said the owners didn't want it and I could take it ... and I paid a $3K premium. I had the car less than 24-hours and on a trade they would give $16K. Rather absurd. Still like the car but I know where you're coming from on the other bullcrap. All in all I like the car but the lack of service and noncompliance with repairing this "engine light" ain't worth the $23K out the door price. I can't believe I'm run across the very person who I've been hearing about. Are you close at all to getting a replacement vehicle, or did they ACTUALLY FIX the car you have? I'm so anxious to hear. 813.988.2442
