AFAIK curb (kerb) weight is defined the same in Europe as in the US. Curb (kerb) weight is specified in both the American & European literature for smart fortwo.

I had my 2008 smart stored for the winter and when i went to start is the first time the battery was dead. boosted and drove it around for a bit to charge the battery but the car was making a strange noise. i let it sit for another week and today ...

well, 8.7 gallons of gas is 54.375 pounds, US curb weight includes a full tank of gas, all coolant and other vehicle fluids, so the fluids add about 70 pounds.
