451 smart fortwo

They just came off my smarty due to total wheel upgrade. These OEM REARS are the 5.5 15s. they are a great budget conscious upgrade for replacing the front skinny 4.5 15s. The car when using 5.5s all around will handle much better, will corner more surely and will not feel like you had a blow out every time you hit a rut or small pothole.

I intend to sell them as two pairs but if someone wishes to have all four, thats fine too.

A real PRO of having this set up is that you can rotate all around since you no longer are restricted by the staggered original set up.
another plus is that you can sell your skinnys as spares. I did!
they will not rub or stick out and will make your smart look more aggressive and planted

take a look at how they looked on smarty....

Oh, that's too bad. I thought your solution was the simplest (most elegant) solution to my instability problem. I guess that you, like me, have bent over and paid for some trick after-market stuff.... But, over time, I thought YOU had the solution that would be the new standard worldwide. It sure would cost a hell of a lot less than what I did (sounds like you too), with only a percentage of the hassle. Good luck on your new set........

To echo you "pictures, please!"

Don't get me wrong Bruce, it IS the simplest and most cost effective way to mitigate the lateral meandering WE all feel on the highway. Its a brutally simple way to upgrade your smart. I loved the look that if you knew what to look for it was custom but yet to the standard eye the car is STOCK...
I just got bitten by the wheel bug and happen to be able to pay for a more costly way to solve the issue. I still went with a non staggered set up... in my opinion the best way.... Oh by the way for those looking into putting my rear rims up front... 5.5 OEM rears is the widest I would go with if you have no power steering... If you have any questions please ask me.. I'll answer as truthfully as possible. as far as pics, check out the pic in "Smart photos"

Elegant is the word for your initial solution.

Your photo shows that your smart has gone from "kid's stuff" to "not kidding".
I still love the 4-square approach.

I will post pix asap of my latest mod.

Still have 2 rears for sale? If you do, drop me a note with the price for the pair shipped. Thanks

Sold the last two.... thanks to all of you for the interest in them. to those that bought them, I know you will notice the ride improvement.
but now a good friend here in Jax has a OEM set of 2 skinnys and 2 wides for sale and they have painted black spokes. anyone interested let me know...... the skinnys have rubber on them but no sensors. the rears are just the rims. his car I think has all of 2500 miles or so on it so they are mint, he also never drives his smart in foul weather....

I just did mine with Rattle Trap. It's from Fatmat (similar to Dynamat)t. It's pretty thick, 8 mil. I like it. It definitely made a difference for improving the interior sound. The engine is quieter but the big factor is the heat from th...

The inside compartment measures just under 3 1/2" at it's widest, so I don't think this is the solution you're looking for. I've got the wheels, just call me at 512-592-4965. Thanks.
