The sound isn't that bad, it comes with tweeter that are located on the dash and the 6.5 in the door, the sub is located under the drivers seat but its not going to shack the smart rather just give a little extra lowend sound.
I recommend it, but I am also replacing everything with higherend speakers, but still get value as all the wiring is already done and the cost and time to put the wiring in to the tweeters, sub under the seat is worth the extra cost, plus the CD player in the upgraded system has a really nice smart logo on start up, just a nice little touch.
I have it my smart , and for the size of the interior ,I think the sound is fantastic ,I don't drive with it cranked up ,I've had better sterio systems ,but I have had many ,many that have been alot worse ,I think it was worth the money
My observations on the premium sound system: 1. I like the AUX plug - not too sure about placement. 2. CD changer is excellent and easy to use. 3. Good range of Base/Treble adjustment. 4. FM reception is weak - I lose the signal in places that our other vehicles don't.
IMHO, the car is just too loud inside to offer a good listening environment.
You mileage will vary with the experience - sounds like an ad disclaimer, but very true. Depending on the quality of fuel available, the terrain you drive on, the altitude, mean temp, avg speed (city vs highway), and how you drive it all factor very…
Hello Bill: No I have fortunately not had this issue with my smart. I do know of others who have. I think this issue may be one supplier of blower motors as some Mercedes-Benz models have also had this issue. There has been a shortage of replace…
Buying a car based on mph alone is setting yourself up for disappointment, IMO. There are other vehicles that would have better mph and more benefits. I bought because I liked the design and the 37 mpg that I consistently get in rush hour Boston tra…
I still have this problem, even after I cleaned the motor plug. Every time it doesn't work I have to go there and shake the plug.
I'm tired and ready to solder it.
I had to have this recently replaced under extra warranty. This should be recalled; its defective. Also have had to replace both headlights replaced. Strange.o
i've had a 2008 for over 3 years, 28,000 miles so far, the servicing isn't that bad if you go to a regular oil change place, i'd go to a smart center every 30,000 miles for coolant and brake fluid changes. in the winter i get 40mpgs, now that it's s…
Thank U Robert.................I'll try this over the weekend.
Did U have this problem? Also I seem to be replacing lamps
quite often. Rear left turn lamp twice and low beam headlight lamp.
Go over to: www.smartcarofamerica.com and do a search on this topic. The motor is easy to remove and if you want to repair it, remove the cover and clean up the commutator on the motor armature and reinstall.
