I purchased a set of after-market fog lights for my Smart ForTwo (2008) -- but the dealership won't install them. Will I VOID my warranty if I get someone else to install them? Does anyone know? Please advise. Thanks!!

PS. I changed my manufacturer's horn to a dual air-horn and it was a pain in the butt to do. Is the fog lights much easier? How long would it take an average "Jane" to do it? :)

What do you mean by aftermarket? Are they other brand than Mercedes? The fog ligths on smart are from R class and certain AMG fog lights. Since the car is prewired to accommodate fog lights, all you need is for your local smart dealer to active the fog ligths feature on the ECU/SAM unit. If your aftermarket fog lights are not designed by or for smart I am afraid that it may void the warranty. In the past I have contacted local Canada’s smart centers, about 2 of them, who said on the past that they can do it. If by any chance you can get to New York, let me know I will take to my guys who will gladly install fog lights for you. I installed the fog lights myself even without taking the front body panels. For the horn I went with Dual Fanfare horm from smart. Installation was as one two and three... If you have Hex screw driver or Hex rench you are good to go. As you can see the fog ligths wires are there for you convinience at the picture posted by me above.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.
