A few items..

I just got the e-mail from K&N that the new air filter is now available for the non-Turbo US Smarts:

I also installed my Area451 Cruise Control last night. Easiest thing I've ever done to mine! (So far, I've added a SoundGate MP3 player kit, changed color panels, added the fog lights, and the CC.)

It takes adjusting as there is no lag when it's engaged (my other car has about a 1/2 second delay from when you press "Set" until it engages). It's well worth it. I am watching to see how it helps my mileage now. :)

Permalink Reply by Jody on December 16, 2008 at 2:15pm: The Cruise Control took me just over 30 minutes to install. Very easy to do. First, disconnect the battery, then remove the steering wheel shroud (bottom unclips, then 2 T15 screws to remove the top), unclip the wiper arm, drill a 5/16" hole thru the shroud plate (check the alignment though!), swap the arm cap, run the wire under the dash then under the carpet to the ECM location (you will need a T25 to remove the screw for the cupholder and the right rear panel), remove 9 wires, plug them into the new connector, and attach the 9 wires from the new harness, connect the black box, secure it,replace the panel, reconnect the battery, and it's done.; ▶ Reply to This
