Picking up my 2008 Passion Coupe black/black tomorrow (10-13-08). Uniquely the USED Smart did not have FOG LIGHTS? I have swept the net looking for aftermarket lights to no avail.

Any thoughts, suggestions, considerations or support?
(Also...much difference between the 2008 passion coupe, and what the 2009 is expected to be?)
Thnaks much!

Attention to all Smart Enthusiast and owners!!!

The dealer at Edison, NJ is first one to install smart fog lights for me. The car came without fog lights. I added them and they installed it for me.

Check with you local dealer they should able to do it for you. Be careful with aftermarket as it may VOID certain waranty on your car. Give me an update.

Be careful with after market.....that's true coz you don't no electrical connection that causes fire on your smart and warranty voided that why they installed SAM in the car....

Boy there sure are alot of mystery's in this little car. Some people can do it but most people can't. I was talking to my smart center dealer the other day about the double headlamps accessories upgrade. It's part of the new Brabus accessories list, but can be added to any smart. He told me that smart still hasn't given them a procedure for adding fog lights. It's not the lights that's the problem, it's the programing of the switch and and fuse thing. It's going to be the same problem he say's, if someone orders the double headlamps accessories upgrade to be added to there car. "We don't know how to do it, and smarts not talking" They have a great sense of hummer about it though, and I laugh right along with them. Consider your self lucky if you know a place that can do it and do it correctly. Same switch same fuse and so on. From what I have heard and read on this forum it ain't easy.

I was quoted $500 after market fog lamp & installation from my smart dealer on 12-18-08.

Hey David. Did you have the $500 fogs installed or going to? If you're comfortable, I'd love to call them (I'm in Chicago) and ask what information they're working with etc. Mind sharing the installer's name & city?
Any feedback on how install will affect your warranty?

(I was into my dealer to order my Smart (two years off), and happened to discover a 2008, used (3k miles) they were going to add fire paint to. I bought that (driving it - yes), and am HOPING that when my Cabriolet arrives (2010 model year?) the ttransmission issue will have been addressed and some other buggy stuff looked after.)
Thanks!
Ron
