Towing Your Boat. I needed a boat trailer 'cause I'm way too lazy to assemble and break down my Portabote (12', 100 lbs). My fix:
The U-Haul hitch #29132, $250 installed. Clears the DTH dual center exhaust IF you use the U-Haul LONG ball mount. U-Haul wired my smart for the trailer for $40. If U-Haul installs their state of the art female wiring terminal (with led lights to check whether you trailer light wiring is functioning as it should), you will need their 3' wiring adapter, $5.00, to match your trailer's flat male terminal. This hitch has a 1 1/4" receiver.
The ball mount takes an 1 7/8" ball, with a 3/4" shaft.
Haul-Master Boat Trailer with 8" Wheels and Tires, sold by Harbor Freight (Item 5002-6VGA, $329). You may have to "special order" it--if so, let the store order it and you'll pay no shipping..You get to assemble it. The U-Haul LONG ball mount has a 3 3/4" rise, which will be about right for your trailer tongue. The trailer is rated for an 800 lb. load.

I just got my '08 Passion Coupe on Saturday and I've already added:
Trim badge that says "Size Matters" to the lower edge of the rear window, just above the Smart badge, and Concept X LED micro lights to the bottom of the dash to light up the floor…
There are at least two problems associated with the shifters.
The shifter won't move. The car gets stuck in park.
The shifter moves but does not engage when moved to reverse.
I had both of them...
Update: the parts came into the dealership Thursday. Car was repaired by Friday noon. She has been driving it since with no additional problems.
The car was in the shop over one week. The loaner definitely helped.
Rebecca - there are two problems. My wife has had both.
1. Shifter stuck, takes extreme force to move it at all.
2. Shifter not stuck, but the car doesn't really go into gear. The display is blank.
Either is a serious problem, disabling the car.
Or perhaps a class action lawsuit.
Are we all experiencing the same problem, or does each car manifest a slightly different transmission problem? When you and others say the car won't go into gear, do you mean the shifter won't move, or the gear doe…
